6. Installation & Start-up

1. Power down CPU – plug-in module is not hot-swappable.
2. Insert module – slide left until latch clicks.
3. Wire serial – use Belden 9841 (RS-485) or 8306 (RS-232).
4. Configure port – CCW > Plug-in > Serial > 9600-8-N-1, Modbus-RTU Master.
5. Test comms – poll slave, verify RX LED flash and data in buffer.
